HOW TO INSTALL HARDINFO LINUX HARDWARE INFO PROVIDER APP IN UBUNTU 16.04
Introduction
In this article we are going to learn How to install Hardinfo Linux hardware info provider package in Ubuntu 16.04. hardinfo is a open source application for Linux operating system used to check system hardware information. It’s an nice light weight application and an easiest way to check your system configuration. Hardinfo Linux hardware info application divided the system information’s in four categories listed below :
- Computer : Operating System details, Kernel Module, Boot info’s, Languages, File system details, Users.
- Devices : Processor Info, Memory info, PCI devices, USB devices, Printer details, Battery Info, Sensors..etc..
- Network : Interfaces, IP Connections, Routing Table, ARP Table, Share Directories, DNS Servers.
- Benchmarks : CPU Blowfish, CPU Cryptohash, CPU, Fibonacci, CPU N-Queens, FPU FFT…etc..
Follow the below steps to install Hardinfo Linux hardware info provider in Ubuntu 16.04
Before we start the installation of Hardinfo Linux package let’s update the packages & repositories of Ubuntu 16.04 using below command.
elinuxbook@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get update # Update Packages & Repositories

Reading package lists... Done
After updating the packages & repositories now we are ready to install the Hardinfo Linux hardware info provider package. So let’s go ahead and install the same using below command.
elinuxbook@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt-get install hardinfo # Install Hardinfo Linux Package Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... As you can see above we have successfully installed the Hardinfo Linux package. Now to confirm the same use the below command.
elinuxbook@ubuntu:~$ sudo dpkg -l hardinfo # Confirm the installed Package

Now to open the application just type the command hardinfo on shell prompt. Refer the command below.
elinuxbook@ubuntu:~$ hardinfo # Open the Hardinfo Application
You can also open the application graphically using Search your computer box. Refer the snapshot below.
To uninstall the Hardinfo Linux hardware info provider package use the below command.
elinuxbook@ubuntu:~$ sudo dpkg -r hardinfo # Uninstall the Hardinfo Package
