HOW TO SET A PASSWORD TO A WINRAR ARCHIVED FILE (RAR FILE)

In this article we are going to learn How to set a password to a Winrar archived file (rar file). Winrar is on of the most popular archive and compress application for Microsoft Windows comes with various features and completely secure to use because this application not only compress the files and directories but also encrypt the data. The best advantage of Winrar application is it allows you to set password so that your personal or any kind of data cannot be accessible by any anonymous person and You have to enter the valid password to access the data. Here in this article I will show you How to do that. So let’s get started.
Follow the below steps to set a password to a winrar archived file (rar file)
You have to follow simple 3 steps to do the same.
Step : 1 Right click on the file that you want to add to Winrar archive and want to set a password for that -> click on Add Archive. Here in my case it’s an image file (iso) and the file name is image.iso. Refer the snapshot below.
Step : 2 After above step you will get the below screen in front of you. Here just click on the button Set Password.
Step : 3 Now the Winrar application will ask you to enter the password. So just enter the password twice on Enter Password and Reenter Password for verification field then click on Ok.
We have successfully set a password to a Winrar archive file. Now to confirm if password is working properly or not just open the archived file and click on Extract to button. the Winrar application will ask you to enter the password to extract the file. Without authentication you cannot extract the password. Refer the snapshot below.
