HOW TO INSTALL WPS OFFICE SUITE (KINGSOFT OFFICE) IN UBUNTU 16.04

Introduction

In this article we are going to learn How to install WPS office suite (Kingsoft Office) in Ubuntu 16.04. WPS office suite is a open source office application like Microsoft office used to perform documentation related work. In WPS office suite we have three major applications i.e.

• WPS Writer
• WPS Spreadsheets
• & WPS Presentation

WPS writer can be used to write documents like resume, application letters, any office related document’s and so on. you can use WPS Spreadsheets to perform calculation related works, Financial works, consolidate large official data…etc & lastly WPS Presentation can be use to create presentation’s. Presentation’s in the sense suppose your company is launching a product then you can create presentation for that product including features of the product, benefits or any product related information.

WPS office is developed by Kingsoft and released it’s first version on year 1988 as a Proprietary license, means personally you can use this application for free but for business use you have to use it’s commercial version. It’s an nice application written using c & c++ programming language and available for almost all major languages. Follow the below steps to install WPS Office Suite (Kingsoft Office) in Ubuntu 16.04

Before we start the installation of WPS Office Suite (Kingsoft Office) we have to download the package from official website. You can refer the below command to download the package.

Now let’s go ahead and start the installation of WPS Office Suite using below command.

Now you can open the WPS Office Suite (Kingsoft Office) through search application, Refer the snapshot below.

When you open the WPS office suite (Kingsoft Office) for first time, it will ask to accept the license agreement. So just click on I Accept button. Refer the snapshot below.

You can uninstall the WPS office Suite package (Kingsoft Office) using below command.
