Introduction
In this article we are going to learn How to install Spaceview disk space analyzer (Disk Utility) in Ubuntu 16.04. Normally to check disk usage we uses commands like df -h. Spaceview disk usage utility will show your disk usage graphically in percentage. It will show you statstics and details of all available partitions i.e linux partition name, partition alias name, partition number, available and utilized partition space and so on.
Spaceview disk space analyzer also allows you to set disk/partition alias name. Whenever you connect a usb drive or flash drive immediately the spaceview disk utility tool prompt the device with it’s details. Before start the installation of Spaceview Disk utility tool we have to install required official PPA repository for that. So to install the same refer the below command.

After installing the official PPA repository let’s update the packages and repository of Ubuntu 16.04 using below command.

OPEN SPACEVIEW DISK UTILITY TOOL GRAPHICALLY
After open the application you will get a sticky tool on your taskbar beside time of the system. Refer the snapshot below.
SPACEVIEW DISK UTILITY SETTINGS
As you can see above Spaceview disk usage tool showing the disk usage of partition /dev/sda1 that 70% of disk utilized. For more settings click on Preferences.
Here you will get settings like set alias name for Partitions, Show details of newly connected devices like USB drive, Set Spaceview disk utility to start at startup and so on. Refer the snapshot below.
