HOW TO INSTALL IIS SERVER (INTERNET INFORMATION SERVICES) ON MICROSOFT WINDOWS 7/8/10

IIS comes with various features like Create a FTP Server, Install certificates to secure you websites, supports both IPV4 and IPV6 version of IP address, Supports various authentications (Basic Authentication / Windows Integrated Authentication). The first version of IIS (Internet Information Services) was released in Windows NT 3.51 on year 1995 then later on over time the IIS got more powerful with more security and features. Now let’s have look at steps to install IIS on Windows 7. So let’s get started.
Follow the below steps to install IIS server (Internet Information Services) on Microsoft Windows 7/8/10
You have follow some simple steps to install IIS. To Enable IIS Server (Internet Information Services) Click on Start and then click on Control Panel.
After above step you will get all the Control Panel options in front of you. If you are uncomfortable with Category view then change to Small Icon on View by option. Now click on Programs and Features option.
Now you will get the Programs and Features window. Here click on Turn Windows features on or off link. Refer the snapshot below.
After above step Windows Features window will in front of you with list of all features. Here tick on Internet Information Services and Internet Information Services Hostable web core then click on Ok.
So we have successfully installed the IIS server (internet information services). Now to check that open your Internet Explorer and enter http://localhost on address bar and you will get the below output. Refer the snapshot below.
