HOW TO INSTALL BLENDER 3D ANIMATION SOFTWARE IN UBUNTU 16.04 – A BEST 3D GRAPHIC DESIGN APPLICATION FOR LINUX
Introduction
In this article we are going to learn How to install Blender 3D animation software in Ubuntu 16.04. Blender is a open source 3D graphic design application used to create animations, 3D models and so on. Follow the below steps to install Blender 3D animation software in Ubuntu 16.04 – A best 3D graphic design application
Before start the installation of Blender 3D animation application we have to install official PPA repository for that as it’s not a part of default repository of Ubuntu 16.04. So to install the PPA repository use the below command.
elinuxbook@ubuntu:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:thomas-schiex/blender # Install PPA Repository

A revival of Irie Shinsuke's PPA: Blender is compiled with all bells and whistles (OSL, OpenCollada, OpenVDB, OSD, jemalloc & CUDA 9 precompiled kernels) and adapted to Ubuntu (python, ffmpeg, ilmbase, openEXR, eigen3, glew, lzo,... Ubuntu packages are used directly to avoid redundancy).

After installing the PPA repository let’s update the packages & repositories of Ubuntu 16.04 using below command to take effect.

After update the packages & repositories we are now ready to install the Blender 3D animation (3D Graphic Design) application. So use the below command to install the same.

As you can see above we have successfully installed the Blender 3D animation package. To confirm the same refer the below command.

Now to open the application just type the command blender on shell prompt. Refer the command below.

To uninstall the Blender 3d graphic design application use the below command.
