HOW TO INSTALL AUDACITY AUDIO EDITOR (MUSIC EDITOR) IN UBUNTU 16.04
Introduction
In this article we are going to learn How to install audacity audio editor / music editor in Ubuntu 16.04. Audacity is a open source application used to edit audio files or music files. Audacity is an cross platform application available for almost all major operating systems like Microsoft Windows, Linux, MacOS. Audacity audio editor application was developed by audacity team and released first time on year 2000 under GNU GPLv2+ license. It supports almost all languages. Here we are going to install latest Audacity Verison 2.1.2
Features of Audacity :
- used to edit the audio files / music files
- Supports almost all kind of audio formats like mp3, wav..etc..and also can be save output audio in any audio format.
- you can use audacity application to make changes in imported audio file like reduce noise from audio file, create karaoke music of any song, reduce vocal from music file and so on.

Follow the below steps to Install Audacity audio editor / music editor in Ubuntu 16.04
Before we start the installation of audacity audio editor / music editor we have to install required official PPA repository as Audacity is not a part of default repository of Ubuntu 16.04. So to install PPA repository refer the below command.
elinuxbook@ubuntu:~$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/audacity # Install PPA repository for Audacity Audio Editor
The PPA contains the most recent release of Audacity (2.1.3 so far) since Audacity Team only provides an daily build PPA.
No updates for Ubuntu 14.04 due to old libraries (2.1.3 requires GCC >= 4.9).

After installing the PPA repository just update the packages and repositories of ubuntu 16.04
