FEDORA 26 HAS BEEN PASSED IT’S END OF LIFE WHICH WAS ON 29 MAY 2018
Introduction
Fedora Project Leader Paul W. Frields announced on fedoramagazine website that The Fedora 26 has been crossed it’s end of life which was on 29 May 2018 and will not receive any official support and update. The developer team of Fedora will not add any new package to repository, bug fixes, security updates after 29 May 2018. As we all know that Fedora 28 is already been released with new updates, features and fixes on 1 May 2018 and happily accepted by user. Hence Fedora recommending Fedora 26 users to upgrade their Fedora from version 26 to either Fedora 27 or Fedora 28.

Fedora 27 will also soon comes to it’s End of Life in next 6 months may be by December 2018, Hence You should go with the latest one i.e. with Fedora 28. To do so you have to follow some simple steps to upgrade to Fedora 28 from fedora 26 but if you are new to Fedora world then you can do a fresh installation of Fedora 28 by downloading it’s ISO images. The major features released with Fedora 28 are Linux kernel 4.16, GNOME 3.28.
They also mentioned on their blog that Fedora 26 was one of the most successful release and came with some good features i.e. DNF 2.5 repository package manager , GNOME version 3.24 Desktop Environment. During the life cycle of Fedora 26 the community has released nearby 10000+ updates and bug fixes.
Normally fedora allows 11 Months of official support for it’s all new releases but as the Fedora 28 released on perfect time they ended the support for Fedora 26 even though it’s not completed it’s normal life cycle.
